Turning 30

My Thoughts On Turning 3O

For as long as I can remember, turning 30 was something I have always dreaded. For some reason I thought 30 was old. That turning 30 meant life was all downhill, for me 30 meant “adulthood”, and that everything had to be serious including who you are as a person. Now if you’re thinking; “you’re only saying that because you are now 30”, well, you are absolutely right! Because it took me turning 30 to realise that I was wrong and inexperience.

The thought that turning 30 means that you are old is actually pretty typical, and common. It’s a thought that most of us grow up believing just before we turn 30. Some still believe this to be true even after they have turned 30 and others that are in their 20’s are dreadfully faltering that inevitable day.

I believe life begins at 30. Like me, you will realise that your entire life has been shaping you for the rest of your life. Memories of your earliest life experiences, all through to your thirtieth. Your hardest life lessons will be your most treasured memories. They become tools; tools to help you navigate your coming days. Moreover, your experiences will help you prioritise your priorities. The things you prioritise as most important will help lead you in the direction you want your life to go or keep going. Also, they will help you prioritise the people you want to walk alongside you.

Finally, honestly speaking turning 30 is a gift, not only is it a gift of life, but you become more aware of your future, (I did), and all that you have to look forward to and be excited about. My pastor always says “your best days are ahead of you”.

Be Well and Be the best YOU!
