Sierra Leone is my homeland, I was born and raise there. As a matter of fact, it’s my favourite place to visit. And whenever I get the chance to visit I never want to leave. Upon visiting I always immediately feel deeply connected to my roots, to my family, and the culture God birth me in. Additionally, during my visits to my beautiful homeland I always take the time to eat authentic Sierra Leonean cuisines and visit familiar places that takes me down memory lane.
About Sierra Leone
Moreover, Sierra Leone this African homeland is located in West Africa, namely, it’s one of the smallest countries in Africa. Indeed, it’s surrounded by tall mountains and valleys. And truly, rooted in the landmark of Sierra Leone is rich agricultural assets, for example, it’s soil and minerals. Moreover, it is specifically known for being a mining centre, where diamonds, gold, bauxite and rutile (titanium dioxide) are yielded from it ground. Furthermore, amongst other things, Sierra Leone is also known for having beautiful pristine white-sandy beaches with tropical climate conditions all year arounds.
Finally, unfortunately Sierra Leone has been through a terrible history of civil war that left the country and its people in ruins. Over the years, in spite of these devastations, the country has managed to developed itself back to being the land that we love, and it is currently welcoming tourism back to its grounds. For example, tourists are welcome to stay and visit its beautiful sea side resorts and plan excursion trips to Bunce Island. Bunce Island was home to the most lucrative slave trading operations in West Africa. In a word, Bunce Island is relatively untouched, it is a significant reminder of Sierra Leone’s history.
In summary, Africa is the motherland and in a word Sierra Leone is one of its most prized jewels.
