Bowness-On-Windermere

I travel because it makes me realise how much I haven’y seen, How much I am going to see and how much I still need to see.

Bowness-On-WindermereFirstly, it was the beginning of the year. Before making any plans, I immediately planned a getaway trip with my family. The reason being, all of us needed rest and to feel revitalised in spite of been at home during the holidays. Earlier on in the year the Lake District had been discussed so we thought, of course. No more second or third thoughts, a decision was made at last and off we went. Finally, we were off, to the Lake District. Specifically, to the quaint Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria.

About Bowness -On- Windermere

Soon after we arrived, the first thing I immediately noticed was that the town is heavily influenced by the Victorian era. As a matter of fact, according to historic records, this lovely town was developed after the opening of the railway line from Oxenholme and Kendal to Windermere in 1847. And, actually at present Bowness-On-Windermere is identified as the most popular tourist destinations in Lake District. In the light of this, thus Bowness regularly welcomes visitors all year around. And particularly, visitors enjoy the delightful settings of Bowness-On-Windermere, which we can testify to.

Insight about the Bowness -On- windermere

The second thing I noticed was the cute little stores they had in town for retail shopping. likewise, the restaurants were also second to none coupled with welcoming staffs. Futhermore, there are also local supermarkets and stores to get your basics. Besides all this, the town is peaceful and quiet and beyond my expectations.

Additionally, the delightful setting of the town includes the town’s main attraction. An absolutely stunning lake where visitors go sailing, play water sport or to simply enjoy the atmosphere. I was captivated by the scenery of the lake, I was truly mesmerized. Beholding the lake really caused me to be still, breathed and just be.

Moreover, an additional gem, that equally adds to the town’s appeals, is the Fallbarrow Holiday Park. We really enjoyed staying at this park. Fallborrow Holiday park is a five-star woodland resort with self-contain lodges. Our lodge at the park was specifically design to replicate the quaint backdrop of Bowness, and was family size. To say that we felt at home would be an understatement.

Inside the Fallborrow Holiday Park there is plenty to do. My nephew really enjoyed playing at the park, we didn’t get to indulged and use the spa facilities as other activities on our itinerary took priority, but of course there’s next time. One of my favourite things I got to do in the park, was going on morning walks with my mum. A memory I will forever cherish. The foggy dew in the morning and the fresh crisp air, coupled with the still lake made it magical.

The Beatrix Potters Museum

Also, the Beatrix Potter museum is located there. To sum up, Beatrix Potter is an English writer, illustrator, natural scientist and conservationist. Further she is best known for writing children’s books featuring animals, such as the Peter Rabbit character.

Concluding a complete week in this blissful town was indeed the perfect getaway trip we all needed to kick start the year. Without a doubt and on the whole, Bowness-On-Windermere has a lot to offers for families, couples and individual travellers. It’s a great place to make good memories. The joy of the countryside.
